Lance Gooden, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas' 5th District, has posted several statements on social media addressing economic and political issues. Gooden, who succeeded Jeb Hensarling in 2019 and previously served in the Texas House of Representatives, shared his views on recent developments in the U.S. economic policy and criticism directed against key political figures.

On April 3, 2025, Gooden expressed a strong stance on economic policy, declaring via social media, "The days of American economic surrender are over! ".

The same day, April 3, 2025, he also criticized various policy positions allegedly supported by Democrats. He listed them in a tweet as follows: "Democrats are currently on the side of:

- Unfair trade deals

- Illegal alien terrorists

- Men in women's sports

- Activist judges

- Antisemitism on campus

- Non-citizens voting in elections

What did I miss?"

On April 4, 2025, Gooden commented on reactions to President Trump's economic policies, particularly reciprocal tariffs. He remarked, "The people who thought Bidenomics was a success are coming out against President Trump's reciprocal tariffs. That is all you need to know."

Gooden, born in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1982, now resides in Terrell. He holds degrees from the University of Texas, Austin, where he graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts and again in 2004 with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
