Lance Gooden, a U.S. Congress member representing Texas' 5th District, expressed concerns on recent incidents through a series of tweets. Gooden has been serving in this role since 2019, succeeding Jeb Hensarling. He has also served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2017 to 2019 and is known for his active engagement on social media platforms where he discusses a range of political issues.

On March 31, 2025, Gooden highlighted several incidents: an "Arson attack on GOP headquarters in New Mexico." He also mentioned "Tesla drivers assaulted across America." Lastly, he noted a "Trump supporter harassed on an NYC subway," questioning the espoused values of love, tolerance, and acceptance by Democratic representatives.

On April 1, 2025, Gooden criticized the actions of unnamed judicial figures. He stated that “Congress can't sit idly by while activist judges obstruct President @realDonaldTrump’s agenda.” Expressing concern for a perceived misuse of judicial authority, he advocated for an end to "dangerous nationwide injunctions."

Furthermore, on the same day, Gooden supported the Trump Administration's decision to reassess federal funding directed to Harvard University. According to Gooden, “The Trump Administration made the right call to review $9 billion in federal funding to Harvard.” He linked his stance to allegations of antisemitism, mentioning that "more than 100 university faculty signed a letter defending the phrase, 'from the river to the sea.'" and argued that "Antisemitism is rampant at Harvard!"
