Lance Gooden, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 5th district, shared his views on various political matters through a series of tweets. His posts touch on controversial topics including gender in sports, party actions, and government shutdowns.
On March 12, 2025, Gooden marked Women's History Month with a pointed reminder: "206 Democrats voted against legislation banning men from competing in women's sports. History will not remember them kindly."
The following day, March 13, he criticized the Democratic Party's evolving stance towards law enforcement and government efficiency by stating: "Democrats used to burn down cities because they were against cops. Democrats now burn Teslas because they are against the government being efficient. So much for being the party of love, tolerance, and acceptance!"
Later that same day, Gooden reflected on past instances when Democrats opposed certain government policies leading to shutdown threats. He noted: "In 2019, Democrats shut down the government over the border wall. In 2023, Democrats wanted to shut down the government over aid to Ukraine. In 2025, Democrats are on the verge of shutting down the government to stop America First policies."
