Lance Gooden, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas' 5th district since 2019, recently shared his views on various political issues through social media posts. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Gooden graduated from the University of Texas, Austin and currently resides in Terrell.

On January 30, 2025, Lance Gooden addressed the topic of immigration policies under President Joe Biden's administration. He stated that he worked diligently to "expose, hold accountable, and defund the NGOs" that he claims incentivize illegal immigration. According to him, with allies now present in the White House and at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), "ALL grant funding to NGOs is FROZEN." He expressed gratitude towards Secretary Noem for their role in this decision. The original post can be found here.

On January 31, 2025, Gooden commented on new polling data concerning the Democratic Party's approval ratings. He noted that "Two new polls show the Democratic Party's approval rating is at historic lows," suggesting that this reflects public disagreement with policies such as open borders and big government. The original post can be found here.

Later that day, Gooden criticized President Biden's Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), labeling it a "green slush fund" rather than an effective measure against inflation. He claimed that "$20 billion is parked in a private bank" while Americans continue to experience economic challenges due to what he calls "Bidenflation." He urged Congress to investigate and called for Citibank to return the funds immediately. The original post can be found here.
