Lance Gooden addresses tragic crash and FBI leadership on social media

Lance Gooden, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas' 5th district, shared his thoughts on recent events via social media. Gooden has been serving in Congress since 2019 after replacing Jeb Hensarling and previously served in the Texas House of Representatives.

On January 30, 2025, Gooden expressed his condolences regarding a tragic incident in Washington, D.C., stating: "The tragic crash in Washington, D.C. has left all of America heartbroken. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. I'm grateful for the swift response of our dedicated first responders!"

Later that day, Gooden addressed issues within the FBI by advocating for leadership changes at its headquarters: "It's time to clean house on the 7th floor at the Hoover Building. @Kash_Patel is the leader the FBI needs to increase transparency, reform the bureau, and restore integrity. Confirm Kash!"

In another post on January 30, he criticized attempts to politicize a recent crash involving President Trump: "Democratic politicians, CNN, and left-wing pundits have all tried to blame President Trump for the crash at DCA. It's sickening and shameful. Now is the time to unite as a nation, not attempt to score cheap political points."
