Congressman Lance Gooden Congratulates President-elect Lai Ching-te on Election Victory in Taiwan

Congressman Lance Gooden, along with his colleagues, has extended his congratulations to President-elect Lai Ching-te and Vice President-elect Hsiao Bi-khim on their recent electoral victory in Taiwan's presidential election. In a press release, Congressman Gooden highlighted the significance of Taiwan's democratic process and commended it as a beacon of liberty in a region often overshadowed by authoritarianism.

"Taiwan's election is not just a victory for its people but a shining example of democratic values in action. President-elect Lai Ching-te and Vice President-elect Hsiao Bi-khim's leadership will undoubtedly strengthen these ideals," said Congressman Gooden.

Amidst increasing aggression from China, Congressman Gooden emphasized the unwavering support of the United States for Taiwan. "In the face of increasing aggression from China, the U.S. stands solidly with Taiwan. We are committed to deepening our relationship and ensuring the Indo-Pacific region remains a bastion of peace and stability."

Congressman Gooden also praised President-elect Lai's impressive political career, acknowledging his significant contributions as a legislator, mayor, and vice president. He further commended Vice President-elect Hsiao Bi-khim for her impactful work as the former top envoy to the U.S., earning widespread respect in Congress and across the United States.
