Cherokee County schools enroll 774 gifted and talented students in the 2021-2022 school year

Test 02

Cherokee County schools enrolled 774 students who were identified as being gifted and talented during the 2021-2022 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

This is a 52.7% increase over the previous school year.

Of the 10,887 students enrolled in Cherokee County schools, 7.1% of them were considered to be gifted and talented.

Cherokee County enrolled the 57th highest number of gifted and talented students among Texas counties.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
