Later that day, at 21:07 UTC, Gooden remarked on what he perceives as ongoing success in a tweet, stating, "The winning has not stopped since January 20th. Goodbye, Khalil!"

Lance Gooden has held his congressional position since 2019 after previously serving in the Texas House of Representatives from 2017. He resides in Terrell, Texas. Gooden has focused on issues such as tariffs, immigration, and recent political developments.
