Lance Gooden, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 5th district since 2019, has shared his views on recent events through a series of tweets. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Gooden has been actively participating in political discourse and legislative activities.

On January 28, 2025, Gooden referenced the COVID-19 pandemic's origins with a tweet stating: "CIA: COVID-19 originated from Chinese lab leak." He mentioned key dates concerning Dr. Anthony Fauci's awareness and dismissal of the lab-leak theory. Gooden also pointed out an interaction between Fauci and a Wuhan lab researcher following Fauci’s public dismissal of the theory.

Later that day, Gooden criticized mainstream media coverage disparities between former President Trump and President Biden with another tweet: "Mainstream Media Coverage...The fake news still can't figure out why the American people's trust in them is at HISTORIC lows."

In a subsequent tweet on January 28, he highlighted former President Trump's continued efforts post-presidency: "Over 77 million Americans voted for President Trump...This is democracy in action, whether Democrats like it or not."
