Lance Gooden, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas' 5th district, has recently shared his views on several pressing issues through social media posts. Gooden, who has been serving in Congress since 2019 after replacing Jeb Hensarling, expressed concerns over border security and military personnel policies under the Biden Administration.
On November 22, 2024, Gooden highlighted the tragic loss of life at the U.S.-Mexico border. He stated that "Over 2,200 migrants have died attempting to cross the border under Joe Biden." He criticized what he perceives as an open-border policy by asserting that "An open border is a deadly border," and accused Democrats of wanting to maintain this situation.
The following day, November 23, 2024, Gooden addressed the issue of military personnel being dismissed due to vaccination status. He claimed that "8,000 service members were fired by the Biden Administration for being unvaccinated." He called for these individuals to be rehired: "We must hire every single fired service member back."
In another post on November 24, 2024, Gooden commented on immigration policy changes. He alleged that "Joe Biden is loosening key immigration restrictions ahead of President Trump’s second term." According to him, this would allow "Thousands of illegal aliens" to enter the United States and suggested that "The border crisis has been intentional from the start."
