Lance Gooden, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas' 5th district, has recently expressed his views on former President Donald J. Trump through a series of tweets. Gooden, who succeeded Jeb Hensarling in 2019, shared his admiration for Trump and the impact he believes the former president has had on American politics and culture.

On November 18, 2024, Gooden tweeted about Trump's potential presence at an unspecified event: "President Donald J. Trump would have been front and center."

Later that day, Gooden highlighted Trump's electoral achievements with another tweet: "President Trump has received over 76 million votes and counting. That's the most votes ever received by a Republican candidate in American history. Those in Congress must support the America First Agenda or get out of the way!" This statement emphasizes Trump's significant voter support and urges congressional backing for Trump's policies.

In a subsequent post on November 18, Gooden remarked on Trump's cultural influence: "The Trump dance has taken over the NFL. The Trump dance has taken over the UFC. The Trump dance has taken over college football. There will never be another like President Donald J. Trump." Here, Gooden suggests that Trump's influence extends beyond politics into popular sports.
