There were 823 students enrolled in Alba-Golden ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 4.4% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 54.4% of them were boys, and 45.6% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 84.4% of the Alba-Golden ISD total enrollment.

Alba-Golden ISD roughly covers schools within Wood County with its main office in Alba.

Among the three schools in Alba-Golden ISD, Alba-Golden High School recorded the highest enrollment of 414 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
