There were 1,175 students enrolled in Grand Saline ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 5.4% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 52.2% of them were boys, and 47.8% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 70.1% of the Grand Saline ISD total enrollment.

Grand Saline ISD roughly covers schools within Van Zandt County with its main office in Grand Saline.

Among the five schools in Grand Saline ISD, Grand Saline High School recorded the highest enrollment of 320 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
