Lance Gooden, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas' 5th district, has been vocal on social media regarding various political issues. Gooden, who succeeded Jeb Hensarling in 2019 and previously served in the Texas House of Representatives, often shares his views on national matters through his tweets.

On March 21, 2025, Gooden criticized the mainstream media's response to comments made by President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. He stated, "When Joe Biden boasted about sidestepping Supreme Court rulings, the mainstream media remained silent. Yet, when President Trump criticizes activist judges, their outcry is deafening. The American people are sick and tired of the fake news' double standard."

The following day, March 22, 2025, Gooden commented on economic indicators under Trump's influence with a tweet stating: "Gas prices: Down. Egg prices: Down. Inflation: Down. Border crossings: Down. This is what I call the Trump Effect."

Later that day, he addressed educational spending and outcomes in another tweet. Gooden remarked on federal expenditure since 1979 by stating: "The Department of Education has spent over $3 trillion since 1979. What have been the results? Zero improvement in student achievement. President Trump's bold action to return education to the states will empower parents and improve student outcomes!"
