Lance Gooden, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas' 5th district since 2019, has recently expressed his views on various topics through a series of tweets. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, and currently residing in Terrell, Gooden has been active in politics since serving in the Texas House of Representatives from 2017 to 2019. He holds degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.

On March 20, 2025, Gooden shared his opinion regarding the Department of Education with a tweet that stated: "Why the Department of Education should be eliminated in one picture: https://t.co/Gd1LT9saCu".

The following day, March 21, he addressed financial concerns related to credit card and debit card swipe fees. In his tweet, he noted: "Swipe fees for credit cards and debit cards hit a RECORD HIGH last year. 2023 --> $172 billion; 2024 --> $187.2 billion. My Credit Card Competition Act will introduce competition in the market and help LOWER these excessive fees!".

Later on March 21, Gooden commented on immigration policies under the Trump Administration by stating: "A visa is a privilege, not a right. The Trump Administration has every right to deport pro-Hamas terrorist sympathizers who hate America."
