Lance Gooden, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas' 5th district since 2019, has expressed his views on several issues through a series of tweets. These statements reflect his stance on the allocation of American tax dollars, immigration policies, and political decorum.

On March 3, 2025, Gooden questioned the logic behind funding transgender clinics abroad with American tax dollars. He stated: "Without USAID, who will fund transgender clinics over 8,000 miles away in India? This is the logic of today's Democrat Party. Congress must pass legislation to ensure this abuse of American tax dollars never happens again."

The following day, March 4, he commented on Catholic Charities and their response to changes in border policy: "Catholic Charities can sue, release statements, and complain all they want. The reality is the open border gravy train is over. If anything, Catholic Charities should give the American taxpayers a REFUND."

Later that same day, Gooden addressed plans by Democrats to disrupt an upcoming speech by President Trump: "Democrats plan to disrupt President Trump's speech with the following: - Noisemakers - Eggs - Handclappers - Signs If Democrats act like immature juveniles, they should be escorted out of the House chamber immediately."
