Lance Gooden, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas' 5th district, shared his views on national security and disaster relief through a series of tweets on January 24, 2025. His statements addressed the deployment of American troops, disaster relief efforts under different administrations, and the current state of law and order in the country.

On January 24, 2025, Gooden expressed concerns regarding American military deployments abroad. He stated: "Dear Democrats, American troops are deployed around the world, protecting the borders of foreign nations. It's past time we prioritize and protect our own. Later that day at 17:03 UTC, Gooden criticized FEMA's disaster relief efforts under President Biden's administration. He tweeted: "Joe Biden's FEMA skipped the homes of Trump supporters during relief efforts. Under President Trump, politics will NEVER determine whether an American receives disaster relief."

In another tweet posted at 19:04 UTC on January 24th, Gooden remarked on changes in law enforcement since President Trump's return to office. He wrote: "Today is the 5th day of the Trump presidency. Law and order is already making a comeback to America."
