Lance Gooden, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 5th district since 2019, shared his views on various political issues through a series of tweets. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, and a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin, Gooden has been vocal about his support for certain policies and figures within the Republican Party.

On January 22, 2025, Gooden expressed concern over the alleged misuse of the FBI under President Joe Biden's administration. He stated that "Under Joe Biden, the FBI became a weaponized tool against conservatives." Emphasizing the importance of leadership changes within the bureau, he declared his support for "President Trump’s nomination of Kash Patel as FBI director," considering it essential for restoring integrity to the agency.

In another tweet on January 23, 2025, Gooden criticized actions by Far Left Democrats regarding immigration policies. He claimed that "What Far Left Democrats will do: tweet out tips to criminal illegal aliens on how to avoid deportation." Additionally, he noted their reluctance to vote in favor of legislative measures such as "the Laken Riley Act," describing this stance as "shameful."

Later on January 23rd, Gooden compared policy decisions made by Presidents Biden and Trump concerning national projects and government offices. He remarked that "Joe Biden shut down the Keystone XL pipeline." In contrast, he praised Trump's action to shut down "every government DEI office," calling it a "major upgrade."
