Werner-Taylor Land & Development has been approved to help finish Three Lakes Parkway with the City of Tyler contributing to the cost of its construction.
“Historically, street extensions are built by the developer as development occurs,” City Engineer Lisa Crossman said in a post on the City of Tyler website. “This funding would allow Werner-Taylor Land & Development, LP to build the extension now, rather than building sections of the roadway as individual properties are developed. This needs to be completed now in order to facilitate the movement of traffic through the area.”
The City of Tyler website states the project will cost Werner-Taylor Land & Development more than $1.93 million while the city is expected to pay a little over $960,000. Werner-Taylor had requested the city to help with construction costs because of the parkway’s arterial street classification and the amount of traffic in the area.
The Tyler ISD also plans to contribute roughly $321,000.
