Tyler Junior College college administrator Homer Hayes donates $255 to Julian Castro's campaign

Homer Hayes, a college administrator at Tyler Junior College, donated $255 to Democratic Party candidate Julian Castro, according to the Federal Election Commission.

According to records, there have been $605 in campaign contributions made by individuals affiliated with Tyler Junior College as of November 3. Approximately 57.9 percent, or $350, of these contributions were made to Republican Party candidates and committees.

Stephen Baskind's contribution of $350 to Republican Party John Cornyn was the largest contribution made by someone affiliated with Tyler Junior College since January 1, 2019.

According to an Inside Higher Ed analysis of federal elections data, individuals that were affiliated with colleges and universities have donated five times more money to Joe Biden than to President Trump. A study by Pew Research in 2017 found that 58 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents thought colleges and universities have a negative impact on the way things are going in this country.
