78 percent of applicants to The University of Texas at Tyler were admitted for fall 2018

At The University of Texas at Tyler, 71 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 56 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Tyler enrolled 10,206 students in fall 2018, including 7,333 in undergraduate and 2,873 in graduate programs, data shows. 15.9 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

93 percent of undergraduates are residents of Texas, and 2 percent are residents of other states. 5 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (58 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (20 percent).

The school admitted 78 percent of the 3,086 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 38 percent enrolled.
