There were 62 African American students enrolled in Ut Tyler University Academy School District in the 2022-23 school year, 8.8% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Ut Tyler University Academy School District welcomed 872 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 7.1% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Ut Tyler University Academy School District roughly covers schools within Smith County and has a main office in Tyler.

Among the three schools in Ut Tyler University Academy School District, UT Tyler University Academy at Tyler recorded the highest enrollment of African American students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 30 students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.
