There were 872 students enrolled in Ut Tyler University Academy in the 2022-23 school year, 2.2% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.6% of them were girls, and 49.4% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 61.7% of the Ut Tyler University Academy total enrollment.

Ut Tyler University Academy roughly covers schools within Smith County with its main office in Tyler.

Among the three schools in Ut Tyler University Academy, UT Tyler University Academy at Tyler recorded the highest enrollment of 378 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
