Winona ISD Education: 1,078 students were enrolled in schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 1,078 students enrolled in Winona ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 2.4% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50.2% of them were boys, and 49.8% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among Winona ISD students was white, accounting for 43.3% of the student population.

Winona ISD roughly covers schools within Smith County with its main office in Winona.

Among the three schools in Winona ISD, Winona Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 556 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
