Enrollment at Chapel Hill ISD schools decreased by 0.6% compared to previous school year

There were 3,397 students enrolled in Chapel Hill ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 0.6% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 52.8% of them were boys, and 47.2% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 52% of the Chapel Hill ISD total enrollment.

Chapel Hill ISD roughly covers schools within Smith County with its main office in Tyler.

Among the five schools in Chapel Hill ISD, Chapel Hill High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,065 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
