Enrollment at Winnsboro ISD schools increased by 4.8% compared to previous school year

There were 1,537 students enrolled in Winnsboro ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 4.8% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.7% of them were boys, and 48.3% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 75% of the Winnsboro ISD total enrollment.

Winnsboro ISD roughly covers schools within Wood County with its main office in Winnsboro.

Among the four schools in Winnsboro ISD, Winnsboro High School recorded the highest enrollment of 479 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
