Sen. Robert Nichols, a Republican representing Texas’s 3rd Senate district since 2007, has recently used his social media platform to encourage voter participation and support for two statewide ballot propositions, as well as express solidarity with law enforcement in the wake of a recent incident.
On November 3, 2025, Nichols highlighted the importance of Proposition 3 in an X post, stating: “Tomorrow is Election Day, and there’s a critical public safety measure on the ballot. Proposition 3 empowers judges to deny bail to violent offenders who pose a clear danger to our communities. Join me in voting FOR Proposition 3 on November 4th.”
Hours later, on November 4, he addressed a recent attack involving law enforcement officers in Jacksonville: “My prayers are with the Jacksonville police officer & K-9 who were wounded in action. There is a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Let’s ensure our law enforcement, and their families, feel the full support of Texas.”
Later that same day, Nichols called attention to another item on the ballot: “TODAY, join me in voting FOR Prop 4. Prop 4 helps protect precious water resources without raising taxes. If passed, it will dedicate $1 billion per year to water supply projects for each of the next 20 years. Polls are open until 7PM. Get out & VOTE!”
Since first being elected in 2007 following Todd Staples’s tenure as state senator for District 3, Nichols has been active in legislative matters related to public safety and infrastructure development.
