Sen. Robert Nichols, who has represented Texas’s 3rd Senate district since 2007, posted a series of updates on social media in early October 2025 addressing community events, public health awareness, and outdoor activities.
On October 6, Nichols announced the return of National Night Out in Lufkin: “National Night Out is back! Tomorrow, Oct. 7, join Lufkin police officers at Kiwanis Park Pavilion from 6–8 PM. Enjoy pizza, K-9 demos, fire engines, ambulance, SWAT vehicles & more. Bring the family and meet your neighbors!”
The following day, Nichols recognized Breast Cancer Awareness Month: “October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month—a time to honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and support the fight for a cure. Early detection saves lives.” The post highlighted the importance of supporting ongoing efforts against breast cancer and emphasized early detection.
On October 8, Nichols turned his attention to hunting season preparations: “With hunting season around the corner, now’s the time to check the @TPWDnews website for the latest news and updates. I’ve highlighted a few key items in this month’s My 5 Cents. Read more here:” He encouraged constituents to stay informed through official resources provided by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Nichols has served as a Republican member of the Texas State Senate since his election in 2007 after succeeding Todd Staples.
