Sen. Robert Nichols, a Republican representing Texas’s 3rd Senate district since 2007, has recently highlighted workforce development and economic growth in East Texas through a series of posts on his social media account.
On November 18, 2025, Nichols emphasized the importance of skilled labor and training programs for Texas’s economic stability, stating, “As a businessman, I can tell you a skilled workforce drives success—and the right training builds stable, rewarding careers. That’s what Proposition 1 delivers: more skilled workers, good-paying jobs, and a stronger Texas economy.”
In another post dated November 19, 2025, Nichols congratulated Dr. Sid Roberts for being honored by the local business community: “Congratulations to Dr. Sid Roberts, recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber’s Celebrate Business event!”
Two days later, on November 21, 2025, Nichols shared news about new manufacturing opportunities in East Texas: “Big news for East Texas! Cancoil USA is opening its first U.S. facility, bringing 120 good-paying jobs to the region. This is an exciting boost for the local economy and U.S. manufacturing.”
Nichols has served as state senator since succeeding Todd Staples in 2007 and has been active in promoting economic initiatives within his district.
