Lance Gooden, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 5th district, shared several perspectives on public education, healthcare, and economic policies through a series of tweets on April 24, 2025. Gooden has been serving in Congress since 2019, following a term in the Texas House of Representatives. In these posts, he addressed contentious issues including parental rights in education, immigration healthcare policies, and economic strategies involving tariffs.

In a tweet dated April 24, 2025, at 16:24, Gooden voiced his opinion on educational content, stating, “Parents should be able to opt their kids out of trans story hour. It’s not complicated; it’s common sense. While we’re at it, get this woke propaganda out of the classroom!”

Later the same day, Gooden highlighted healthcare concerns regarding immigration. In another post at 18:49, he claimed, “Under Joe Biden, 1 million illegal immigrants received Medicaid. If Democrats truly want to save Medicaid, they should work with Republicans to reduce that number to zero.”

In a subsequent tweet posted at 22:55, Gooden argued in favor of tariffs imposed during President Trump’s administration. He stated, “70% of small businesses believe the Trump tariffs will strengthen the American economy. Remember when Joe Biden falsely claimed his presidency was the ‘small business presidency’? President @realDonaldTrump is actually delivering for Main Street!”

Gooden, born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1982, resides in Terrell and completed his education at the University of Texas, Austin. He earned degrees in both Arts and Business Administration.
