Lance Gooden, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 5th district since 2019, has been vocal on social media about various issues, including economic disparities and border security. His recent tweets reflect his engagement with current events and policies.

On February 18, 2025, Gooden questioned the need for prominent figures in technology and cryptocurrency, “Why do we need @elonmusk and @DOGE?” He highlighted economic inequalities by pointing out that “5 of the top 7 wealthiest counties in America are located in the DC metro area.”

The following day, February 19, he expressed support for Elon Musk’s involvement with Dogecoin. Gooden stated, “I voted for @elonmusk to run @DOGE and I’m thrilled to be getting what I voted for!”

Later on February 19, Gooden addressed border security concerns by comparing illegal alien encounters under different administrations. He tweeted, “Daily illegal alien encounters at the border have fallen from 11,000 under Biden to 229 under Trump.” He further questioned President Biden’s stance on border control by stating that Biden claimed he was powerless and only Congress could address the crisis.
