Lance Gooden, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 5th district since 2019, has been active on social media, sharing his perspectives on various political issues. Gooden, who succeeded Jeb Hensarling and previously served in the Texas House of Representatives, often discusses matters related to migration policies and economic regulations.
On May 4, 2025, Gooden suggested that it was an opportune moment to advance his proposed legislation aimed at auditing all United Nations and non-governmental organization grants associated with mass migration. He stated, “Seems like a good time to pass my legislation to audit ALL UN & NGO grants linked to mass migration.”
In another post dated May 5, 2025, Gooden highlighted a significant decrease in border apprehensions, noting that they are at their lowest point since the 1960s. He contrasted this with the previous administration’s approach by stating: “The previous administration spent time blaming Congress. The Trump Administration is spending time enforcing the law.”
Later that day, Gooden addressed economic concerns related to regulatory policies from different administrations. He claimed that regulations from the Biden era impose an annual cost exceeding $15,000 on average American households. In contrast, he credited President Trump’s deregulatory measures with saving families $11,000 per year. He concluded optimistically: “We’re just getting started.”
Lance Gooden was born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1982 and currently resides in Terrell. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in 2001 and a BBA in 2004.
