Lance Gooden, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 5th district, has made several statements on social media addressing various political issues. Gooden, who replaced Jeb Hensarling in 2019 and previously served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2017 to 2019, shared his views on recent actions by Democrats and President Trump.

On May 10, 2025, Gooden expressed his criticism towards the Democratic Party’s actions with a statement: “Having margaritas with an MS-13 terrorist seemed like rock bottom for Democrats—until they staged an insurrection to free illegal alien criminals.”

The following day, on May 11, he continued to criticize Democrats for their use of tax dollars. He stated: “Democrats used tax dollars to house illegal aliens in luxury hotels across America. President Trump is redirecting funds previously used for illegals to build a national center for homeless Veterans. This is what the American people voted for!”

Later that day, Gooden praised former President Donald Trump’s leadership skills with a succinct comment: “President @realDonaldTrump is the ultimate dealmaker-in-chief.”

Gooden was born in Nashville, Tennessee in 1982 and currently resides in Terrell. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with both a BA and BBA.
