Lance Gooden, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 5th district since 2019, recently expressed his views on social media regarding political events and figures. Gooden, who has been vocal about his stance on various issues, shared his thoughts in a series of tweets.

On May 16, 2025, Gooden addressed comments by James Comey concerning former President Donald Trump. He remarked that “James Comey’s call to assassinate President @realDonaldTrump should surprise no one.” Gooden accused Democrats of promoting political violence over recent years.

Later that day, he tweeted about what he described as a significant scandal involving Democrats and the mainstream media. In his words, “The biggest scandal in modern American political history.” He criticized both groups for losing credibility.

On May 17, 2025, Gooden commented on presidential pardons in relation to mental capacity.
