Lance Gooden, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 5th district since 2019, recently shared his views on various political issues through a series of tweets. Gooden, who succeeded Jeb Hensarling and previously served in the Texas House of Representatives, has been vocal about his opinions on border security and actions taken by Democratic leaders.

On March 7, 2025, Gooden expressed criticism towards President Joe Biden’s decision to halt the construction of a border wall while simultaneously authorizing the building of a taxpayer-funded wall around his personal property. “Never forget: Joe Biden canceled the wall at the border while building a taxpayer-funded wall around his beach house.”

Later that day, he provided an overview of recent activities by Democratic politicians. He pointed out that several Democrat mayors avoided committing to handing over illegal immigrants to ICE, Democrats in Congress did not stand for Laken Riley and a young cancer survivor during an event, and that many House Democrats voted against censuring Representative Al Green. “A recap of Democrat actions this week: 1. Democrat mayors refused to say if they’d turn illegal aliens over to ICE. 2. Democrats in Congress refused to stand for Laken Riley and a 13-year-old cancer survivor. 3. 198 House Democrats voted against censuring Al Green.”

In another tweet posted on March 7, Gooden contrasted what he described as differences between “Biden’s America” and “Trump’s America,” focusing on their respective approaches to small businesses and shelters for undocumented immigrants. “Biden’s America: Shut down small businesses. Trump’s America: Shut down illegal alien shelters.”
