On April 29, 2026, Alders questioned ongoing discussions with a strongly worded post: “Why are we even thinking about this? Not just no. Heck no.”
Later that day, he informed constituents about an upcoming legislative meeting: “The House Select Committee on Health Care Affordability will meet tomorrow and Friday to examine the drivers of rising health care costs and how we can bring relief to Texas families. Attend in-person or watch live at https://t.co/1ZMoHv6Qp5 Your input matters as we work” (April 29, 2026).
On April 30, 2026, Alders followed up with another brief message: “Starting shortly!”
Alders succeeded Matt Schaefer as state representative for Texas’s 6th House district after being elected in 2025. The House Select Committee on Health Care Affordability is tasked with examining factors contributing to increasing health care costs and seeking solutions for residents across Texas.
