Daniel Alders, a Republican recently elected to the Texas State House representing the 6th district, has used his social media platform to comment on issues of identity and legislative participation. In a series of posts made in August 2025, Alders addressed both cultural and political topics relevant to Texans and Americans at large.
On August 11, 2025, Alders stated, “Texans are still Americans. And we should want for our country the ideals that made us exceptional.”
Later that day, he elaborated on his personal values and the connection between Texan and American identities. He wrote on August 11, 2025: “I’m a Christian first. I’m a conservative second. I’m a Texan and American third. Our Texas identity is fundamentally connected to and enhances our American identity. It adds a further streak of independence to what already existed in the American spirit.”
On August 12, 2025, Alders commented on ongoing events in the Texas legislature regarding attendance by Democratic lawmakers: “We’re on Day 9 of Quorum Break. Texas House Democrats continue to refuse to show up and do the work they were elected to do. They can’t just wish themselves into a majority and make the rules. But they could stay and fight – that’s what the front and back mics are for – they”
Alders assumed office after being elected in 2025 to replace Matt Schaefer as representative for Texas’s 6th House district.
