Daniel Alders, a Republican recently elected to the Texas State House representing the 6th district, has posted a series of statements on his Twitter account addressing legislative rules, religious texts, and public safety concerns.
On September 1, 2025, Alders engaged in discussion regarding proposed changes to legislative rules. He asked: “Are you suggesting you don’t support these rule changes? And sure – they’re not binding on the 90th session, but if we make these changes to the rules now, it’s much more likely they stay in the rules for next session.”
The following day, on September 2, Alders cited scripture in another post: “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.” Matthew 5:17 NKJV
Later that same day, Alders addressed a public safety situation by posting: “Praying for safety for everyone involved, and praying that this is just a false alarm.”
Alders assumed office in 2025 after winning election to replace Matt Schaefer as representative of Texas’s 6th House district.
