The Texas Veterans Commission has awarded a $250,000 grant to Smith County Habitat for Humanity that will go toward helping veterans to make repairs and improvements to their homes.
The University of Texas at Tyler is set to receive and additional $300,000 in CARES Act Recovery Assistance funds from the Economic Development Administration, a part of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Gregg, Rusk and Wood counties were recently awarded grants totaling $635,000 from the North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority for transportation projects.
